"I Exalt Thee"
"I Exalt Thee" is not a long song, and is so worshipful. It has a beautiful melody.
At the age of 26, Pete Sanchez was involved in Christian music. He felt it would be good to withdraw from active ministry for a time, and he began studying the Psalms. One day, he came across Psalm 97:9:
"For thou, Lord, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods." It seemed powerful to him and he began to work on it with the piano.
He got the opening line:
"For Thou, O Lord, art high above all the earth."
But it wasn't till eighteen months later that the rest came. And it was a very special moment for him.
Thou art exalted far above all gods. (repeat.)
For Thou, O Lord, art high above all the earth."
Thou art exalted far above all gods.
I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee O Lord. (Repeat.)
I play some piano, and I often find myself ending with this song.
