"Praise Him in Song"

"Amazing Love"

In praise songs, the word "amazing" is used for God and what He has done.  "Amazing Grace."  "Amazing Love."

The first lines of "Amazing Love" by Billy James Foote express this amazement:

I"m forgiven because You were forsaken

I'm accepted, You were condemned

The contrast of forgiven/accepted with forsaken/condemned says it well.  The amazing truth that Christ took our place on the cross is sung in the song:

Amazing love, how can it be

That You, my King would die for me?

But He rose again.  And we can call Him King today.

I'm alive and well.  Your Spirit is within me

Because You died and rose again

Amazing love, how can it be

That You, my King, would die for me?

Amazing love, I know it's true

It's my joy to honor You in all I do.  I honor You.

The song is also known as "You are My KIng."  Billy and his wife, Cindy, are worship leaders today.
