"Your Steadfast Love"
It is a joy to sing words from the Psalms back to God. In the 1970's, Ted Sandquist released a worship song, "Your Steadfast Love," based on Psalm 36:5-8. Together with Phil Keaggy, a guitarist, and others, an album was produced titled, "Courts of the King," with this song on it.
Thirty years later, Ted's family released an anniversary album, because of its popularity. Ted is seen as a pioneer of modern worship music. Several other songs you might recognize from the album are "Lion of Judah," "My Sun and My Shield," and "All that I Can Do is Thank Him." The chorus to the last song listed is:
All that I can do is thank You
All that I can do is pray
All that I can do is lift my hands
To sing Your praise.
His son, Jordan, wrote a comment on You Tube, March 6, 2021, "Dad is alive and well (though he had a rough bout with COVID19 a year ago), and we are all still writing worship music." They are working on getting some of their dad's music on the web.
The words to the song are:
Your steadfast love extends to the heavens
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds
Your righteousness is like majestic mountains
And your wisdom like the depths of the sea
And You come to me
Filling my heart with your loving kindness
I find my peace in the shadow of your wings
I eat my fill from the abundance of your household
And I drink from the streams of rejoicing
You are my KIng.
