"Praise Him in Song"

"Such an Awesome God"

There are not enough words to describe the greatness of God.  Sometimes worship is expressed together with kneeling, lifting of hands, or sitting in silence before the Lord.  He is awesome, which the song, "Such an Awesome God" says:

Such an awesome God

So mighty

So holy

So wonderful

Such an awesome God

So selfless

So generous

So faithful, You are

The song is written by a new music group, "Maverik City Music," which is composed of a diversity of writers and songwriters.  Johnny Hamilton, Heath Balltzglier, Mitch Wong, and Jonathan Jay wrote this song together.

The song begins by honoring God as creator:

You call the sun to rise

And You lay it down to rest

You hold this heart of mine

And You hold my every breath

The beauty of worship is that it draws us closer to God.  And He, in turn, meets us.  The song talks about His pouring out on us:

The name of God is mercy

Oh, the name of God love

Oh, the name of God is kindness

And You're pouring out on us

Who God is "redefines love" in the words of the song.  I have read where the Greeks had to find a new word for God's kind of love--"agape."  The song goes on to say:

There's nothing sweeter, sweeter than Your love, Jesus

Jesus, the Son of God

Hung on a cross to die

But not even death itself

Could hold You down, for you rose to life

Seated in majesty

Reigning in holiness

The table is set for me

For You are the living bread
