"Way Maker"
When we think of the empty tomb, we can say, "Jesus made a way back to the Father for us." A popular contemporary song, "Way Maker," celebrates this. The song was written by Nigerian-born Osinachi Kalu Okoro, a worship leader at Loveworld.
One group, "Leeland", included this song in their album, "Better Words." Hebrews 8:6 says, "Jesus is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises." So we can sing with thanksgiving:
Waymaker, Miracle worker
Promise keeper, Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are.
The songs opens with the words, "You are here, moving in our midst." In Matthew 18:20, Jesus says, "For where two or three are gathered together in my Name, there am I in the midst of them." He sent the Holy Spirit so His Presence could be with us and work in us. The verse says:
You are here, touching every heart
I worship You, I worship You.
You are here, healing every heart
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, turning lives around
I worship You, I worship You
You are here, mending every heart
I worship You. I worship You.
It is good to remember God's promises. It was a painful time for the disciples from Good Friday to Easter morning. Imagine the amazement they felt when Jesus appeared to them that Easter evening! The bridge to the song says:
Even when I don't see it, You're working
Even when I don't feel it, You're working
You never stop, You never stop working
