"We Shall Behold Him"
In Mark 13:26, Jesus says, "And then shall they see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory."
The song, "We Shall Behold Him" was written by Dottie Rambo in 1981. While driving to a meeting with a friend, an unusual cloud formation caught her eye. It was beautiful, with colors. The clouds parted, and there was a straight passageway through the formation.
Dottie started to weep, and she asked her friend to take over driving. As she continued looking at the cloud formation, she seemed to see the Savior coming with trumpets sounding. As they stopped by the side of the road, Dottie composed the song. She had no paper to write it on, but she said, "It was written on my heart." That night, she introduced the song at the meeting they were going to.
The words to the song are:
The sky shall unfold, preparing His entrance;
The stars shall applaud Him with thunders of praise.
The sweet light in His eyes shall enhance those awaiting;
And we shall behold Him then face to face.
The angel shall sound the shout of His coming;
The sleeping shall rise from their slumbering place,
And those who remain shall be changed in a moment,
And we shall behold Him then face to face.
Chorus:
And we shall behold Him, we shall behold Him,
Face to face in all of His glory. O we shall behold Him,
We shall be hold Him face to face, our Savior and Lord.
