"Praise Him in Song"

"To Him Who Sits on the Throne"

The title of the song, "To Him who Sits on the Throne" directs our heart towards God who is good and wondrous.  Hebrews 4:16 says, "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need."

In the 1980's, Debby Graafsma wrote this song.  The words are based on Revelation 5:13:

To Him, who sits on the throne, and unto the Lamb,

To Him who sits on the throne and unto the Lamb;

Be blessing and glory and honour and power forever,

Be blessing, and glory and honour and power forever.

The video shows Maurice Sklar playing this song on the violin.  Maurice is a Messianic Jew who has a moving story of how he came to believe in  Jesus.  He started playing the violin when he was four, and studied at Julliard.

Debbye Graafsma, the writer of this song, studied classical piano for most of her childhood.  She has some instrumental albums:  "Rest in the River," "Peace in the River," and "Healing in the River."  She also has had a counseling ministry with her husband who has been a pastor in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.
