"Praise Him in Song"

"No Longer Slaves"

Identity is important to us.  The praise song, "No Longer Slaves," celebrates what it is to be a child of God.

Brian Hesler said when he wrote the bridge to the song, he could picture the children of Israel walking through the parted waters of the Red Sea.  God does extraordinary things for His children.

You split the sea

So I could walk right through it

My fears are drowned in perfect love

You rescued me

So I could stand and say

I am a child of God

I John 4:18 says, "There is no fear in love.  Perfect love casts out fear."  God's love toward us is perfect, and through Jesus, He adopted us back as His children.

From my mother's womb

You have chosen me

Love has called my name

I've been born again

Into your family

Your blood flows through my veins

I'm no longer a slave to fear

I am a child of God

I'm no longer a slave to fear

I am a child of God

"No Longer Slaves" was written together by Jonathan Helser, Joel Case, and Brian Johnson, and is from Bethel Music.  It was released in 2015.

The rest of the words to the song are:

You unravel me

With a melody

You surround me with a song

Of deliverance

From my enemies

'Til all my fears are gone

I am surrounded

By the arms of the Father

I am surrounded

By songs of deliverance

We have been liberated

From our bondage

We're the sons and the daughters

Let us sing our freedom
